InterContinental Lijiang Ancient Town Resort by IHG

What an amazing property, the hotel is outstanding, the lobby overlooks the mountain, its maintained excellently and the staff is very helpful. The restaurants are excellent, with very large offer and fairly priced. I would have liked an outdoor pool, considering the location. Cant wait to visit again!

The hotel did not meet our expectations. It was a beautiful hotel with excellent location, but the hospitality was lacking. - it was a beautiful hotel with nice rooms and buildings. - The house keeping staff was nice and attentive - One of our rooms smelled of smoke and despite notifying the front desk twice, no attempts to fix the issues. - We had booked 2 suites with lounge access, the lounge was lacking in clean glasses, cutlery and service. - The lounge was always lacking of drink options. - The lounge lacked clean tables - There is a smoking room in the lounge making it smell strongly of smoke sometimes - When checked out we checked numerous times with the front desk to make sure they had all charges, however we got contacted the day after with an extra charge of 1300 Yuan.

Not recommended. We asked for an extra bed, they didn’t perform it in a long time, only after I called, they sent the bed. When I asked the umbrellas, the reception stuff seems very impatient and impolite, she told me that don’t lose them and I should return them to the reception. Very funny and passive aggressive advice. I can see in general all the IHG hotels in China are not as welcoming as in other countries. So it’s better to choose a local hotel chain instead.
