Just wanted to give a huge shoutout to the amazing receptionist Meghan at the front desk! From the moment we walked in, she welcomed us with the warmest smile — not the forced kind, but the kind that actually makes your day better. She’s super friendly, always upbeat, and handles every question or request like a pro — no excuses, no delays, just quick and helpful solutions. Whether it was about early check-in, local recommendations, or random room queries, she had it all covered. Honestly, she’s the kind of person who makes a hotel feel like home. If every hotel had a receptionist like her, travel would be a whole lot smoother. Big cheers to her — keep being awesome!
Overall, we had an amazing stay in the city! The hotel is totally recommendable and I would totally come back once I travel in LA again. However, I feel like the system is a bit weird and difficult to understand: it seems to be tricking customers into paying extra fees for everything, from the breakfast (even if you take the included breakfast), to facility fees which are about $400 for things you may never use. Except for that one shortcoming on the service, the hotel is truly breathtaking: the best view of LA, perfect bed, shower, quality shampoos, gym, pool, and more! Besides, InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown is located just in front of the metro station, which connects to plenty of lines taking you everywhere around the city. I definitely recommend taking the metro, which is cheap and fast. Overall, I would really recommend this hotel, but make sure not to fall for their fee traps 😉
Unfortunately, booked it without reading the reviews thoroughly. On the positive side, the room was beautiful, spotless, and offered a stunning view of the city—truly a highlight of the stay. However, the experience was let down by the disappointing breakfast situation. Although breakfast was included in the booking, it turned out to be à la carte with a $39 limit per person. You’re allowed to choose items within that amount(barely covers 1), and anything over is charged extra, plus tax and an 18% gratuity fee. To make matters worse, we waited nearly an hour for our food to arrive. The restaurant clearly cannot handle the number of guests staying at the hotel, and there was even a wait just to get a table. It simply wasn’t worth it. On the second day, despite having paid for breakfast, we opted to eat elsewhere—faster service, better variety, and far less hassle. It’s a shame, as the hotel itself is lovely, but the breakfast experience was one of the most disappointing I’ve encountered in any hotel.
