InterContinental Sanya offers a luxurious beachfront experience with beautiful sea views, spacious clean rooms, multiple pools, and excellent service. The breakfast is diverse, and family-friendly amenities are top-notch. Some staff have limited English, but overall a relaxing, high-quality stay. Perfect for a serene tropical getaway.
Our three-night stay at the Intercontinental Sanya Haitang Bay was fantastic! The hotel room was spotless and equipped with everything we needed – even a Dyson hairdryer! Every morning, we woke up to breathtaking sea views, which was such a treat. The breakfast buffet was excellent, offering a wide selection of Chinese and international dishes, fresh juices, fruits, and live cooking stations – something for everyone to enjoy. The hotel grounds are lush and green, with well-maintained facilities like a gym, a beautiful pool area, and beach access. We also dined at Aqua Restaurant, their stunning seafood restaurant, surrounded by an impressive aquarium – truly a memorable experience. Although swimming in the ocean is restricted due to strong currents, the beach setup with loungers was perfect for relaxing. Plus, there’s a huge duty-free shopping center nearby with all the top brands. Overall, a wonderful stay with great amenities, fantastic food, and exceptional views. Highly recommend!
Ok. Not so goods: Huge construction project next door that makes noise all day long; this is a unwelcoming event that is unpleasant— beware; see photo of new hotel— wow! Not much English spoken; older and looking very tired building; the ocean can be very rough; not much around except for the large mall with only a few food choices. A lot of families with kids. Adult pool was closed unfortunately so you have to enjoy the family pool area. Can be noisy on the ground level but seems like the property to the left side is much more quiet though. Goods: hmmm… large rooms, nice staff; large grass area with a variety of trees and plants which is comfortable for a walk to the beach. Very tentative room service with quick response! Ask for a room at least on the eighth floor up for best views. Stay firm with your requests though. The Club Room is good but go early. Only serves afternoon tea and a light dinner though with alcohol. Service was excellent! I think this is a 4 star hotel though so keep your expectations in check. Also there are more Chinese than foreigners that stay here. Weekends seem busier. The beach is good with soft tan sand which is well maintained. Just a few beach loungers as I suppose most Chinese don’t tan in the sun. There is parasailing but doesn’t appear to be solo. We used the hotel transportation which was an additional cost but well worth it since the airport was a bit confusing. Nice pool areas with lots of natural scenery which adds beauty to the property. Very nice landscaping that provides a pleasant walk to the beach.
