Our family of four visited Coogee Beach for three nights in late March. My husband and I splurged on an oceanview room, which was great for the sunrise/sunset and hearing the waves from our room. Our adult kids stayed in a pool view room and could see the ocean to the side. Both rooms had a balcony with a small table and a couple of chairs, and it was nice to sit out there and enjoy a cup of tea or read a book. The rooms were excellent, parking lot was convenient with in/out privileges (for a daily fee), and we enjoyed the bar and restaurant. The breakfast buffet was excellent and had a wonderful variety of options. The location was super convenient and walking distance to the beach and local shops and restaurants. I'm sure the upcoming renovation will be amazing!

We are so impressed with this stay!!!! After a very long flight from Arizona, the customer service at the Crown Plaza has been amazing. They were nice enough to let us check in to our room early and have been extremely accommodating. Janine has been so kind and helpful. After letting us check in early, Janine came to our room with champagne and chocolates to welcome us to this beautiful country! Did I mention that this is the perfect location for everything you need including the beach!! Will definitely recommend this to anyone coming to Australia soon!!

Stayed here one night for a conference. The conference facilities and public areas downstairs are excellent, clean and modern. That said, we went out for dinner with a view to returning to the very nice looking bar for a nightcap or two. No such luck, it was shut at 9.30pm so we went to the Coogee Bay Hotel next door and spent our money there for a few hours. The bar staff there said many people visit as a result of the same experience with the hotel. The room, whilst very large however was very tired retro 1990s. I never thought in the mid-2020s I would ever find myself standing in a plastic bath with a shower curtain beneath a single fixed shower head. I kept forgetting the toilet seat was not soft closing. Bang! No face mirror, no hair-dryer and while there was a steam iron, there was no plastic cup to fill it up with water. That led to the task of trying to fill an iron under a tap with an impossible angle. Not a single bottle of mineral water in the room, only eau de tap. Empty minibar but that is usual these days. Furniture very, very tired. A stained chaise longue looked like it had seen a bit of action over the decades. On the positive side the bed was good and there was enough for four cups of tea or coffee. The website says the hotel will be closed from April to September 2025 for full room renovations.
