InterContinental the Clement Monterey by IHG

I stayed here for my birthday weekend, and this hotel was absolutely amazing! From the moment I arrived, I felt incredibly welcomed and comfortable throughout my entire stay. The room was beautiful, the amenities were so cool , and the services exceeded my expectations. Lastly the location is next to the Monterey aquarium and walking distance to some great spots. The staff was consistently respectful, kind, and attentive. A special shoutout to Joshua, who delivered exceptional customer service , such a kind and hardworking young man! His professionalism and warm demeanor truly stood out and made my experience even more memorable. They even surprised me with the sweetest birthday card and a bottle of champagne, it was so thoughtful and they all signed it. Thank you to you all.🥲 💕 I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be returning!

This hotel is top tier. The staff are wonderfully trained: respectful, helpful, and friendly 💗 The rooms are clean and modern (a big priority for me). I love the bar soap (unscented) whereas the lotion has a scent a bit too strong for me (there is a coconut lime lotion in the spa which smells great tho! Maybe this hotel can consider changing to? 🙂) Location is next to the aquarium and the parking is easy to access ($45/night valet or self parking is the same price). I love how walkable the area is (the only sad thing is that all the stores are for tourists, not much charm)

I typically won’t rely on posts that are 1 or 5 stars because the likelihood of them being a one off, super disgruntled or fake review are high. I booked two different rooms for just one night as myself and two family members were passing through town. Location excellent, views great and I’ve been an IHG member for some time now. Unfortunately when I arrived, the front desk staff tried to sell me on some fake upgrade to an ocean view king bed room. I had already booked an ocean view double bed room as my two family members needed separate beds. The front desk staff tried to tell me my original booking was a partial ocean view, however my confirmation booking clearly shows it wasn’t. So they ended up “downgrading” the room to the double bed partial view right, however I still paid the full rate at which I booked. So they must’ve double booked or just given my original room away to someone else I’m not sure. On top of this, when I went to my own single room it stank of cigarettes and marijuana so so so bad that I didn’t even spend more than 10 seconds in it before needing to be moved. Again, different downgraded room, still paid full price. This hotel is just another like the others in every respect other than location. Also…they don’t even have fitted sheets…$500+per night and don’t carry fitted sheets, seems cheap. Staff were friendly though.
