I had an amazing time here at the Iris Hotel. I stayed for a few nights in room 508, and enjoyed the clean pool and got a relaxing spa treatment. The gym was closed for renovations so I could not try that facility, and same with the rooftop bar. The only downsides to the hotel is Netflix does not work on the TVs, and it gets a bit stuffy in the small elevators and hallways due to a lack of air conditioning. I also don't think the bathroom fan works. The staff were very kind and helpful, the laundry service was very prompt, and the buffet breakfast had a good variety of options to choose from.
The hotel is under construction which we were told starts at 08:00 in the morning. But it really started at 07:00. The drilling is very loud, if you are jet lagged I would not recommend to stay at this place, there is not much peace. The staff is friendly, but they don’t understand English very well. They forgot to give my husbands Visa back, and it took a while until they understood that we wanted it back, luckily they didn’t try to keep our passports. The roof top bar is under construction, the pool is nowhere to be found/ same as the gym, the breakfast room stinks. Rooms are somewhat clean and spacious which is ok.
Terribly Disappointing Experience – I Will Not Return. I had stayed at this hotel twice before and was quite satisfied, but my recent stay (check-in on June 15, 2025) was so bad that I feel compelled to write this review as a warning to other potential guests. The hotel is currently undergoing renovation, with noisy construction happening every single day of the week (in my opinion, might last for about 2 months). Upon arrival, I was assigned a room on the 5th floor. Unfortunately, the deafening noise from drilling, hammering, and wall demolition made it impossible for me to rest after a long day of travel. I called the front desk to request a room change — specifically asking for a quieter room since mine was too close to the renovation area. However, I received no response even after 5 minutes. I had to go down to the reception and they finally moved me to the 9th floor. The front desk also gave me two complimentary foot massage vouchers, each valued at 700,000 VND. I ended up giving them back to the staff as a gift — because I can buy such services when I need them, and more importantly, what I truly wanted was a quiet, comfortable place to rest after a tiring workday. The next morning, breakfast at the restaurant was also unpleasant. Loud construction noises, including drilling and hammering, made it hard to enjoy the meal. What shocked me the most was being woken up before 7 AM on my final morning by the sound of heavy drilling — even though the hotel clearly states that construction work takes place between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM. This clearly shows a lack of supervision and poor operational control, and worst of all, a complete disregard for the comfort of the guests. During such renovation periods, a hotel must properly manage room assignments to minimize the impact on guests, or at the very least, inform guests in advance so they can decide whether or not to stay. But here, it felt like: “You booked it, so you have to endure it.” That’s the exact impression I was left with. I am extremely disappointed and will absolutely never return to this hotel. If you’re considering booking a room here anytime soon, think twice — unless you want to go through the same awful experience I did.
