A very underwhelming stay. Check-in was okay and we got a room upgrade, but that was where the good experience stopped. I must say that language was a big barrier, but you would expect a hotel with such a big name to at least have people who could communicate well. We got a room with two separate single beds, though we checked in as a couple. We had to both sleep uncomfortably on one of the beds for our two nights stay. There was no milk provided for the tea & coffee in the room, we made a request before it was brought up and it wasn’t replenished for the next day. There were no drinking cups available for the water in the room. The grouting in the shower area was mouldy and unpleasant, my wife wouldn’t step into the shower. There was a sponge provided, which I used on the first night. I would have expected that it would be replaced on the second day, not only was it not replaced but the packaging was still left behind and not disposed. The air-conditioning wasn’t working well and the room was quite hot, we had to call twice before a technician was sent up to try to adjust it. It still didn’t make any difference. The curtain in our room fell off while I was trying to draw it on the first night. We got back on the second day to still find it on the floor.
As someone who travels internationally and has been to plenty 5 star hotels. I will rate this hotel a 2! I hope Marriott actually looks into this. This hotel can be a hit or a miss because: 1. In some rooms the Air Condtioning does not work. We had to change room 4 times to finally get a decent room. 2. The SPA/Gym/Swimming pool is absolutely amazing. World class. Huge gym. Amazing spa. 2 swimming pools. 12/10 for spa and health center. 3. The restaurant. My god it is atrocious. One time the food took almost 1 hour. I ordered at 5:45 food arrived at 6:40. What the F!!! For a salad! No bread is served!! English language skills lacking but minimum is expected to understand order but it isn't there. Problem is I dont wanna be mad at the young staff. Also food has no flavor for a turkish restaurant. Additionally its overpriced AF! The hotel needs to review pricing and food quality. 10% Service Charge for a service where I can cook faster than that. 4. The breakfast is 2 or 3 star hotel breakfast. Nothing exceptional but will get the job done I guess. 5. The roof top bar is nice because of the views. 6. The Hotel is Clean! The room cleaning service - OH BOY I MUST TALK ABOUT THIS. THE CLEANING STAFF WHICH LIVES IN THE HOTEL ARE 4 BUNK BEDS AND NO AIR CONDITIONING AND FAN. What modern day slavery is this? You hire foreigner staff just so you can treat them like this? THE LEAST HOTEL STAFF CAN DO IS GIVE THEM ATLEAST A FAN! This can be investigated by Turkish Tourism Board and Turkish Hotels Association. So there 2 stars. Somethings I loved somethings hated.
Worst hotel ever. Highly overpriced and does not live up to Marriott standards. The ac dis bot work the entire night and I was only able to get my room changed because i was a gold member, even then the ac controls are not in the room and are managed by the staff. Basic toiletries were not there and only provided when asked. They did not have converters for the plugs and upon asking they told us to go to a mall where all customers go to buy the converters (despite knowing this a hotel like Marriott should keep some). Breakfast was also subpar for the price.
