Just returned from a great week at Galloway View. The property was clean and spacious, comfortable bed and sofas, great shower, loads of hot water, quality crockery and cookware. Superb location and wonderful views across to the bay. Lovely walks in the nearby forest (& to Gatehouse of Fleet for pubs and restaurants) bluebells everywhere. The quiet lanes were great for cycling and route 7 from Gatehouse to Kirkcudbright has the most stunning views. We were of course very lucky to have such sunny weather every day. Just a couple of niggles; there were no oven gloves and really the oven was in need of a deep clean; only one small toilet roll was provided, despite 2 bathrooms ( perhaps this was an oversight by the cleaner?).
Had a great stay at Galloway View. Lodge is very nice. Spacious and very clean. Plenty hot water and warm even with no heating on due to our lovely weather and obviously very well fitting doors and windows. Too hot to light the fire during our stay but would be lovely in the cooler months. Kitchen has plenty of equipment to cater for four. Fridge freezer whilst perfectly functional is showing a bit of wear and tear but does not detract from stay. WiFi initially a bit up and down but seemed to sort itself out. No subtitles on tv but most folk wouldn’t be bothered by that. Both bedrooms and en-suites immaculate and very comfortable beds. The views of the farmland, horses and out to the bay are ever changing. Overall would highly recommend as a. great spot to kick back , relax and explore Dumfries and Galloway. We hope to visit again in the future.
We had a great stay in High Tide with our dog. It was really peaceful, beautiful views, great location for walking to town. The hosts were really helpful when we needed them and left us in peace when we didn’t. My only request is blinds/curtains for the lounge windows to keep the heat down when the sun was beating in. The lodge next to us had them, so maybe they are coming! I’d definitely recommend!
