Jannata Resort and Spa

I had an amazing time at this resort. I had never stayed at a 5-star hotel before, and honestly, it was incredible. The facilities were beautiful — the pool, the private pool, the rooms, the jacuzzi. And the view… absolutely spectacular. I went for my best friend’s wedding, which was held there, and everything was just perfect. I would go back a thousand times if my budget allowed it. What I must highlight is the kindness of the entire hotel staff, including the restaurant team. They are all super friendly, so sweet — truly wonderful people. Honestly, I can’t recommend this hotel enough.

This is a hard review to write. If we have to review this hotel being 5 stars the review will be horrendous. If we were to review as 3 stars or an old 4 stars it is a decent hotel.. Service is really great, staff is super friendly/helpful and rooms are clean. However the hotel is super outdated, not sure if this hotel was ever a 5 star resort but it certainly is not now. Because the service was so good it feels unfair to give a bad review, but when you book a 5 star hotel the expectations are just different. This hotel needs a really good facelift/modernization or a proper downgrade in stars. Rooms needs an upgrade, its outdated, old and smells musky. Though clean enough. We stayed in both a private pool villa and a deluxe suite. The feeling was mutual in both rooms, an upgrade is desperately needed. The bathroom in the deluxe room smelled moldy after having used the shower and the water pressure was very low. Location wise it has a great view, near a lot of rice fields, but if you plan to go into the city it is 25-30 min on scooter depending on traffic. The hotel is on a very steep hill side (hence the great view) however be prepared for a lot of stairs especially if you book the private villas which is located at the bottom. This is not a fault of the hotel, merely something to be aware of :-)
