Just spent a weekend getaway here and had so much fun! The resort was so beautiful and clean. Drinks at the downstairs bar were by far best I’ve had in a very long time. The staff were all so helpful and accommodating. Mike at the front desk welcomed us and made us feel right at home. Will definitely be back soon!
The resort location has several converted plantations (cottages) with different themes. They are perfect for family reunions and wedding parties; or just a peaceful getaway. Short ride to the beach. If you want to unplug and have a nice weekend away from the hustle and bustle: I recommend this place.
Staying at the Jekyll Island Club Resort truly felt like stepping back in time to the Gilded Age. It was incredible to be surrounded by such rich history while still enjoying modern comforts. Our 4-year-old son instantly took to Mike at the front desk—he was friendly, helpful, and went above and beyond to make sure we were in a room that could comfortably accommodate our family. One thoughtful touch was the umbrella provided in the room, which turned out to be a lifesaver during our August visit. While we didn’t use the resort’s shuttle, we did take advantage of the Jekyll Island Ocean Club. It had a more modern feel and a completely different vibe from the main resort, which made for a fun contrast. The $42 daily resort fee, however, didn’t seem to deliver much value. For example, no coffee was provided in the morning—only water—and parking is self-park. It also felt like there were several additional fees throughout our stay. That said, the beauty of the property more than made up for some of those inconveniences. The grounds are stunning, the pool is inviting, and we loved being able to stroll over to the Wharf or visit the nearby Georgia Sea Turtle Center. If you appreciate history and want to feel like you’re living in another era—without giving up today’s luxuries—the Jekyll Island Club Resort is a special place to experience.
