Nice hotel in colonial style. The looks up here is fantastic, I got lost here and was warmly welcomed. The prices are a bit higher but not too much compared to the rest of the city. Got me a coffee here and enjoyed the view. The staff is friendly and courteous, not intrusive. I got a tour of the facility and was allowed to look at one of the rooms. The tranquility is just indescribable. Far from the noise of the streets a small oasis in the middle of the city.

We loved this hotel for many reasons. The location was ideal- in the central part of Luang Prabang only 1 block from the night market and an easy walk to the museum, the steps to the top of Mt Phousi, the restaurants and bars along the river, and many of the Wats that you will want to see while visiting. The hotel resembled a converted mansion with high ceilings and beautiful entrance ways, etc. Our room was large and clean with a super comfortable king sized bed, a shower and tub, air conditioning, a safe and a mini fridge. Plenty of large towels, robes, and slippers, as well as plenty of bottled water was provided. The room was quiet, too. The small hill in town at the southern base of Mt Phousi that the hotel is located on is easy to walk up from the main street. (I have seen complaints about the small hill in some reviews of this hotel for some reason...) It is about 200 meters up the gently sloping road to the hotel entrance from the main street. The hillside location gives you great views of the surrounding city and mountains and you will be above all of the street noise. The staff was super nice and spoke English very well, and our room price included free airport transfers. (the hotel is about a 15 or 20 minute ride from the airport) Breakfasts were served some mornings by order, and on some mornings there was a breakfast buffet. There were always Western and more local food choices available, and we ate well every day! The Lao coffee was delicious, too! The hotel, in spite of being spotlessly clean on the inside, could use a little maintenance in spots (like the pool area and some of the landscaped areas around the hotel) and that is one reason why I gave it only a 4 star review. The other reasons for fours stars would be that the hotel has no bar or spa (there are plenty of those close by....), and no room service. We thought it was an excellent value, though, and we would definitely stay here again and recommend it to our friends

Very unpleasant atmosphere. I stepped in accidently to enjoy the views. No signs, no nothing about private property. Just a building that looks somehow abandoned. All of a sudden rude staff showing up. For the sake of peace and quiet I ordered a small bottle of beer. Again very strange behaviour („manager“ was the worst) Btw: Prices for drinks are ridicoulous - and I have been to many well known top-notch places in Luang Prabang (money is not the point of this review) Avoid this place at any cost, it‘s by far not worth the hustle!
