Johannesbad Hotel St. Georg

Rooms were very spacious, clean, and well maintained. Food and service excellent. Although there is a small walk to the slopes it's one of the closest hotels to the main Cable car. Only small gripe is the barman was so busy doing restaurant service it was hard to get a drink at times.

The room was very spacious, but would do with some new windows and a little refreshment. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom was fairly new and nice. Staff was ok, not super friendly, but friendly enough. I didn't like the fact that dinner was served only until 8pm, and the expectation was that you should be finished by then (staff kindly suggested this upon arrival). Too early and not cool in my opinion. Gastein Card is a joke compared to other regional cards. Food was very good. Nice idea with the egg cooking station at breakfast, but standing nearby made your clothes smell of kitchen oil. All parking spots taken most of the time. All in all, it was good value for money, though.

I have spent one night in this hotel. My experience is: Weird smelling room, no toiletries, no mini-bar, no safe, no coffee or tea machine and the room could not be locked from inside. The room had a “worn-out” feeling. Definitely not a 4* hotel. Good breakfast and nice view from the room.
