We found that the main highlight for staying here was customer service, every staff members were so friendly and welcoming. We had a room with a private onsen and they called this type of room “villa” which in fact was more like townhouse rooms as they consist of five rooms jointed together. The downsides were that bed is on a mezzanine floor and you have to use stairs, bathroom was outdoor so it was a bit inconvenient in the cold weather. The stairs were wooden and you can hear your neighbors stomping and all their other activities clearly. Beautiful experience! Everything was perfect. Nice fireplace and the harp player was amazing! They thought of everything!! Onsen area was great and the feels were provided in the o sen area. We did not have to bring towels from the room. Beds were super comfortable with Netflix provided on the tv.
This ryokan has a combination of traditional luxury and impeccable service. Rooms were cosy with a massage chair and the dinner buffet was very well curated, followed by roasting marshmallows at the lobby lounge. They even have a well-known harpist playing in the lobby and I haven't heard a harp for eons.
