I stayed at the hotel for two nights while traveling for work. The location was convenient for me, as my workplace was just a 15-minute walk away. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. However, I found the area lacking in nearby food and grocery store options, which was a bit unfortunate. Additionally, I had forgotten to bring my toothpaste, and when I inquired at the reception, I was informed that the hotel does not stock such essentials. Given that there are no nearby stores to easily purchase these items, it became quite inconvenient. I would recommend that the hotel consider keeping basic essentials like toothbrushes and toothpaste available at the reception, even if not provided in the rooms. Overall, it was a good and pleasant stay with just a few areas for improvement.
I’m not sure why the cost so incredibly high for the two nights I stayed but for a hotel of this level it was definitely not worth the nearly $800 (AUD). Firstly the room. It was like a hospital ward - only what you absolutely could need so it could be easily cleaned. The free minibar. It had two drinks in it - I think one was a juice and the other sparkling water. I was so thirsty when I arrived that I had the water and was surprised/disappointed to find it did not get replenished. I ended up buying water from Reception for €4.20. Ridiculous! Despite the incredible cost I did not have a room overlooking the water….i don’t even know what I looked onto….some kind of wasteland with graffiti. The location seemed to be in the middle of nowhere. The immediate are didn’t feel overly safe. Wifi worked well and a lovely team member offered to book me a taxi for my very early start this morning. Other team members were efficient but not overly friendly. I wouldn’t stay here again.
Moderate hotel. The staff in the reception are very kind and helpful. However, the other staff is very rude in restaurant and common areas. I had a bad experience where I was yelled by a bellboy since I could not read the warning which was only in German. All in all, I would prefer another hotel in Hamburg.
