Great historical building that is refreshing cool during hot summer days. The staff is very friendly and supportive. The location of the hotel is perfect for lovers of moutains, forrests, lakes and historical places around Carinthia.
Very friendly staff, big rooms in a monastery style, simple but comfortable.
The hotel itself has a very charming and atmospheric feel, but unfortunately the service was terrible. We arrived at 7 PM and were told we couldn’t eat at the restaurant, even though there were clearly empty tables. The staff claimed everything was fully booked. We then tried to order something from the bar, but the woman there told us they were too busy and wouldn’t be able to prepare any food for us. She directed us to a restaurant located in a castle about 10 minutes away by car. Since we were traveling with children, my husband had to drive there, place the order, and bring the food back. When I asked if we could get some cutlery and eat at one of the tables, she said absolutely not – we weren’t allowed to eat our own food on the premises. She actually suggested we eat in the park, presumably on the grass. It was a truly embarrassing experience, and we definitely won’t be coming back.
