We stayed in a youth hostel in Gemünd as a family for the first time and were pleasantly surprised. It's almost like a hotel, and the price-performance ratio is unbeatable. New and modern, and a great location for exploring the Eifel region. Very clean, and the staff are very friendly. A varied breakfast with plenty of choice and local rolls. The packed lunch for the road was also great. The bar has fair prices, and you can end the evening comfortably. Just one small criticism: It would have been nice to have known when booking that there was only a small portion of the dinner menu, which you couldn't choose yourself, instead of a buffet. We would have preferred to eat in a restaurant.
We stayed at the Vogelsang IP Youth Hostel in the Eifel region with several families and had a wonderful time. The hostel is modern, clean, and well-equipped. The rooms and common areas are attractive, the food is solid, and the service is very friendly. We also liked the bistro and bar area. Overall, we give it four out of five possible points for a youth hostel. A highly recommended accommodation for families and groups in the Eifel National Park—we'd love to come back!
Hostel has been completely remodelled which is nice! Spacious rooms and awesome bathrooms. Not cheap though, we paid €80 for one night in a 2-person bedroom. We did not expect this price from a hostel. You also have to buy some sort of 'membership card' which seemed pretty useless. Wifi only worked in certain parts of the room. Breakfast was nice.
