JW Marriott Hotel Medan

I really liked the vibe here. The rooms all have views, they're large, location is in the middle of town. The food is great, the in-room dining and Chinese restaurant were super tasty and affordable (to me). Its just so friendly here. Daniel at the concierge was helpful in going beyond protocol for me and Evelyn at the Chinese restaurant was just a delight in recommending food and just being charming to a solo traveller.

Right in the centre not far from Soho and the railway station. The hotel was very comfortable but service was somewhat lacking given its five stars status. The lounge staff didn't have a clue about the cigars on display. The shower in the room also didn't stop dripping despite my best attempt to get the dial to the close position. Very comfortable bed though.
