JW Marriot Marco Island is the most enjoyable , fun filled vacation venue. We have been vacationing in Lanai Suite 189 for many years and are always so impressed with the abundance of wonderful amenities & activities for our children. The staff at this hotel are always so friendly & accommodating and never fail to meet all our needs. We would like to extend our thanks to the staff for making our stay so fabulous and making us feel extra special during our vacation! My Special thanks to the Lanai Suites Manager Max Frimberger, Nagat Khalil in the front office and the Arcade manager Hannah Rambo. Sincere Thanks MJ Rizzo
Our experience at this location was mixed. Overall, it was disappointing given the historical and consistent level of service encountered at JW Marriott. First, the positives: Location is great Staff were fantastic Rooms were very impressive and recently refurbished Amenities were largely very nice Restaurants were diverse and very enjoyable Now the negatives: "Bones" of the premises were showing their age. Lobby acoustics were awful. Pool areas were overly crowded with the lounge chairs "taken" by either guests who laid claim by draping towels well in advance of arriving at the pools or by "reserved" for VIP's. Check-in process was awful. Our check-in time of 4p coincided with the close of a convention which resulted in a long line for valet parking and delayed check-in. Our room was not ready. The on premises Spa was an outright failure. Reservation process was anything but customer-friendly. The online booking tool was unable to process a couples massage. Our initial phone call resulted in a voice mail message that was never returned. Our second attempt resulted in a voice mail message but was eventually returned. Spa personnel instructed me to return to the online portal and book a single massage but to inserted a note requested the couples accommodation. We completed the reservation adhering to the instructions. As we were arriving at the resort, we received a phone call from the Spa advising of a problem. They saw the note for a couples massage but only had a single slot available. This trip was for our wedding anniversary; hence, the couples massage was critical . We elected to cancel. The Spa handled this very poorly with no excuse. They had the reservation for a couple a month in advance and flagged it the evening prior to our morning massage.
Room temperature never goes below 70f. Maintenance came to my room and explained that this side of the hotel uses a single-shaft HVAC design rather than double-shafted, which means the airflow is insufficient to cool the room properly. They also mentioned there have been complaints from other guests, and the only solution they can offer is to switch you to the other side of the hotel when possible. Additionally, the walls are paper-thin and apparently lack internal insulation, as any noise or conversation from the neighboring room can be heard as if there were no walls at all. If you are not a super heavy sleeper and you care about sleeping in a cool, quiet environment, this hotel will likely disappoint you. Otherwise, you might be fine — but you’ll be paying luxury rates for a property with serious comfort flaws. The doors are low quality, and the gap between the bottom of the door and the floor is large enough for hallway noise to come right in. There is also no door separating the ice machine area from the hallway, so every time someone uses it, the noise is audible inside the room, even if your room is not directly next to it.
