My wife and I spend a wonderful day at Jozankeionsenhigashi onsen. We booked a room with a private onsen and it was heaven. The ability to use our onsen anytime was fabulous. The spring water’s mineral content was not as nice as the ones in Giro but it was good. The hotel is also beautifully decorated with tons of beautiful artwork and ceramics. It is big, airy and very tranquil. Lots of after meal food, drinks (many bottles of sake, plum wine, Sapporo bears) kept us entertained. It was also a very relaxing and tranquil space. And the dinner-simply the best Kauai meal I’ve ever had. 9 courses of pure heaven. The Chief really outdid himself with the freshness of every item served. I highly highly recommend this place. Will definitely come back again. The only slight drawback was the shuttle service. We had to wait two hours to get in ours after check in, but the hotel welcomed us to stay in the facility.
4.8 - This hotel is seriously underrated for the price they charge. I stayed for one night with a half-board package, and from the room to the food and services, it's hands down the best ryokan I’ve experienced within my limited budget. Let’s talk about the room—it was incredibly spacious, modern, and came with its own onsen tub, offering complete privacy. If you're looking for seclusion, this place is perfect. That said, I’d still recommend checking out their main onsen bath—it’s definitely worth it and will likely surprise you. As for the food (dinner and breakfast), it was absolutely delicious, far exceeding expectations. If you’re feeling bored or hungry, their library is a nice touch with a variety of books, and there’s an open resting area with snacks and drinks, including sake, beer, cakes, nuts, and canapés. If I return to Jozankei, this will definitely be my top choice for accommodation. There’s so much more to this hotel, but I’ll leave the rest for you to discover. You won’t be disappointed!
Meals thete are amazing , we can tell the chef put lots of efforts to bring the excellent Kaiseki. Rooms are dustless and suer big . In room onsen is good but it’s not out door one. Also the public onsen is just. Ok, Stuff in the restaurant are very friendly but the front dest staffs are quite rude. So I was a bit afraid to talk to them even I got questions of the facilities of the hotel.
