We’re so happy we chose Kabannas for our 4-night stay in Newcastle! We booked a private double room, but we were upgraded to a private 4-people room for free, so we got loads more space, which was great. The double bed was super comfy and the black-out curtains worked amazingly. We’d only suggest getting some sheerer curtains to have as well, so you could still have natural light without the student accommodation in front feeling too invasive. The bathroom was compact but totally functional and we loved the fact that the toiletries were vegan. Although with it not having so much ventilation, it would also have been nice to have some kind of air freshener, since there were some unpleasant smells coming out of the drains. The hotel is super well located, 5min sea from the city center but away from all it’s chaos. All the staff we talked to was friendly and helpful and it was a very nice touch to have complimentary coffee from nice roasters. We’d be happy to stay here again and we’ll definitely recommend Kabannas to anyone coming to Newcastle.

This is one of the rare hostels in Newcastle where you can stay at a very reasonable price. I’d say it definitely gives you good value for your money. The place is clean, quiet, calm, and well-organized. I only needed a place for one night and it served its purpose perfectly. If you're looking for a budget-friendly and reliable option, I would recommend this place.

It was okay for a short stay, but I wouldn’t choose to stay here again. There were a few issues — towels were missing from the bedroom on arrival, and the windows didn’t close properly, which meant a lot of noise came through from the busy road outside. If you’re on a tight budget, it does the job, but for around £40 more, you can find a room for four that’s noticeably more comfortable. It seems mostly aimed at stag and hen parties who just need a place to crash. Parking is very expensive too.
