Our stay at Hotel Kagaya was truly distinguished by the profound attention to detail and the array of unique experiences that permeated every aspect of our visit. Beyond the expected comforts, the ambiance of the entire facilities was captivating, with exquisite artworks and traditional Wajima lacquerware displays creating a sense of cultural immersion. We particularly enjoyed the fascinating museum tour within the ryokan itself, a delightful surprise that offered a deeper appreciation for the region's heritage. The hospitality was exceptional, with the staff demonstrating a remarkable foresight and thoughtfulness in anticipating our needs, making each moment feel personalized and special. The food was not just delicious but presented with artistic flair, reflecting meticulous preparation and a commitment to culinary excellence. This unwavering focus on crafting a truly memorable and distinct experience sets Hotel Kagaya apart, making it a destination where every visit uncovers new layers of beauty and refined service. Noto Peninsula is a very special place and it's unfortunate that it doesn't receive as much attention as other parts of Japan. With a school program, I was blessed with the opportunity to stay at Kagaya for a night. Kagaya is a ryokan with a rich history and has been rated highly by Japanese travel agencies. It's truly a great experience, however due to it's age there are surely better ryokan out. When we first pulled up to the ryokan in out bus, the staff warmly greeted us to the point that my classmates and I were shocked by their hospitality. After settling down in our rooms were were given a serving of macha, along with wagashi and our yukata. The girls were allowed to choose between different designs and the staff helped them change. The meals and performances at Kagaya were exceptional. For dinner had a kaiseki dinner with sukiyaki and Noto Beef, as well as access to a tempura bar. We met the chef who prepared out meal, and he gave a thorough explanation of what was prepared for us. During the meal, we were also joyed to find out that there was a drum and dance performance prepared for us, tracing its roots back to when the people of Noto Peninsula scared off invaders in the 1500s. At the end of our meal, we danced together with the staff. For men, the public baths consisted of three sections. Two levels of indoor baths and one outdoor bath. There was also a sauna. The baths overlook the Sea of Japan, proving a nice atmosphere. However, Kagaya is a notably old ryokan, so the bathing facilities are not the best I've seen among the places I have stayed at. Once you exit the baths, there are drinks prepared for you from fresh juice to teas. Additionally the interior design of Kagaya is amazing. It maintains the ryokan aesthetic with some modern touches. I was truly stunned as I walked throughout the ryokan. While my experience may not be indicative of every travel due to my unique opportunity with my school, it speaks to the lengths that the Kagaya staff will go to accomodate their guests.
Gorgeous rooms we had!The room is quite wide and relaxing. We had 3 rooms, 1 bedroom,1 living room and 1 tatami room.Every windows have the ocean view. The room has 3 TV’s, 2 toilet , 2 make up room and one gorgeous Japanese style bath. The hotel is old from the outside but inside it’s gorgeous. There is a souvenir shop street which is really interesting. The hot spring bath is perfect they have a lot of towels ready to use anytime. Since this is the number one hot spring hotel in Japan the service is very good! Please come and see it yourself
