Kalyon Hotel Istanbul

Location is great, rooms were ok, AC kept turning off and we had 27 degrees Celsius at one point. Food / Breakfast was very disappointing. But really the location here was why we booked it. This hotel has a parking lot so you can park for free. People are friendly.

Absolutely terrible service. We were treated like we are criminals or something. At arrival, two min after we enter the room, a guy comes and knocks on the door, saying "Sir, you have to come with me at reception to pay", ok you forgot to charge me 2 min ago, its not like i am going to run.. At the reception, we normally pay with card from my phone, but 3 times did not work, and the guy tells me, "In Turkey cards dont work very well", please bring physical card. I did not have any problems with my phone paying anywhere in Turkey except this hotel. Anyway, we fixed it on the second try with a physical card. The rooms are small and need renovation and are very noisy, you can hear the people below you what they are talking about. The breakfast was terrible. Old food, the egss were looking disgusting. We asked for cappuccino. The guy came with two cups, but he spilled both cappuccinos in their dishes, and he just put napkings below them instead of bringing new ones. The cappuccino was terrible. We asked for paid one as should be better, but no, the same crap. The biggest hit, tho, was someone from the staff put a printed note under the door in the middle of the night to remind us to leave before 12, or if we want to stay more, they offer luggage storage room. The only thing we liked in this hotel was the parking and location.. Stay away from this place.

Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with my recent stay at Kalyon Hotel, where I stayed for 3 nights. Unfortunately, my experience was far below acceptable standards, and I feel compelled to share the issues I encountered. First of all, the room furniture was noticeably old and worn out, giving the impression of a lack of maintenance and investment in guest comfort. The service quality was extremely poor — I would rate it 1 out of 5. The staff appeared disinterested and unprofessional. Additionally, hygiene and cleanliness in the room were below expectations. To make matters worse, I checked out just 2 hours late and was charged 60 euros for it, which I found to be excessive and unreasonable. When I approached the reception, the staff responded with rude and disrespectful behavior, making the situation even more unpleasant. Shockingly, no one on the hotel staff could even tell me who had called my room earlier — a clear indication of poor communication and management. In summary, Kalyon Hotel does not meet the basic standards one would expect from a reputable establishment. If someone is looking for a hotel with outdated facilities, poor service, and unprofessional staff, then Kalyon Hotel is the right choice — otherwise, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.
