Very nice onsen. Elderly friendly. All the staff are very nice and attentive to us. The room is very spacious and authentic. During the time of our stay, the hotel offers a free DanDan Men during late night which I can safely say that it's the best Dandan men I've ever had!
Visited the first time and after the acquisition by the My Stays/Kamenoi chain. While the hotel was built long time ago and it does not look very attractive from outside, it is renovated, clean and comfortable. I found the Onsen was really good, staff were exceptionally helpful. The location was in a middle of nowhere (in fact in a residential area), and no other restaurants, bars around. But it was 15 minutes away from Horyuji Temple (World Heritage) thus if you are coming from Osaka, going to Shigi- mountain first, stay one night, then go to NARA, it would be an ideal hotel. You also need a car, must order meals at the hotel. Also the price went up by 50% after the acquisition, not sure if the pricing was right (I went there because a special travel promotion by the local government.) I will return in spring or Autumn if the pricing is attractive.
We are staying tonight on Dec 21, 2024, may I ask why hallways are not heated?? It’s freezing cold to get to the bath area.
