Kanok Buri Resort

A solid 4 star value hotel with good breakfast (omelette station), clean rooms, good beach access & pool, a nice ocean swim area, and some good shops nearby. The buildings are a bit old and could use some upgrade, and my room AC made some noise. But overall, it's good price and located on the peaceful side of the island. The fitness room could be improved with a stronger working AC. However, we enjoyed the peacefulness of this resort, and will return again.

I would like to share my experience staying at this hotel and clarify a few important points. First, when we booked the house, the description stated that it was 100 square meters. In reality, the house itself is very small — the 100 sqm includes the entire property with the pool and everything else. Inside the house, there is hardly any space to move around — just the bed and a small passage. There is no real living area. Second, the bathtub drain worked very poorly. When my child took a bath and I drained the water, dirty and smelly water started coming up from all the drains around the house. Third, and this really surprised me as I’ve never experienced it anywhere else: we specifically booked this property because it had a sofa that could be used as a sleeping place for our 4-year-old child. Instead, we were given a baby cot suitable only for an infant, even though it was clearly stated during booking that our child is 4 years old. I asked to remove the cot and provide proper bedding (a pillow, blanket, and sheet) so we could set up the sofa for our child, but they refused unless we paid 800 THB, claiming they had already provided a “sleeping place” for the child. The blanket they initially gave us was as thin as a sheet, and my child got cold during the night. When I asked for a warmer blanket, they did provide one, but still did not give us a sheet for the sofa. The whole situation was extremely disappointing — in every other hotel we’ve stayed at, if there was a sofa bed, they always provided all necessary bedding for it at no extra charge. Here, instead, they insisted on using a baby cot with high sides that our child couldn’t get in or out of by himself, and the bedding was clearly intended for a newborn — the blanket was too small for a 4-year-old. Overall, it was a very questionable experience, and I can’t say that staying at this property was enjoyable.

Bad service, old and tired hotel. The staff didn’t really care about offering any kind of service.. They got upset even when asking for something. The breakfast was included but we inly went once. It was so bad. It started at 07:00 until 10:00. They cleaned up the place at 09:50. We weren’t able to check out 3 hours later. However they did start cleaning the pool 30 minutes before check out. They are just so rude.. The location was great especially if you want to chill without a big crowd.
