The views from the hotel were absolutely stunning and the surrounding nature was peaceful and refreshing. However, the room itself had a few issues that made our stay less comfortable. There was an unpleasant smell in the room, possibly from unclean carpets, and we found an insect on one of the beds when checking in. The indoor door handle was broken, and despite being promised Wi-Fi, there was basically no connection throughout our stay. One thing to note: we booked this hotel thinking it was located inside Cappadocia due to the name, but it’s actually in Güzelyurt, about 1 hour and 20 minutes away — that was our oversight, but worth clarifying for others. Despite the setbacks, the overall experience was still enjoyable thanks to the beautiful setting.
This was a joke of a hotel and I’ll never plan to return anywhere near this location. Where do I begin? First, they barely provided us with toilet paper lol like how stingy can you be. When asked, they would always return with a single roll and acted as if it was an inconvenience, not to mention needing towels. I ended up purchasing my own toilet paper from a local store (which was extremely cheap). The second room for the other members of our group was hot and humid, and when the owner of hotel was told about this, he merely shrugged and didn’t care to correct this or do anything. There were young kids in our group, so this was a huge issue because we were there for a few days and it was hard to stay in there. From the very beginning, he seemed to try and get us to stay and only spend money to eat at the hotel, which didn’t make much sense because there were a lot of affordable places to eat right around the corner. The caves are just that, caves. So if you want a bad experience that involves getting your car blocked in at the very end when you’re trying to make your flight, this is the place to stay. The one positive was that this businessman was able to get a good deal for activities, but by the end, it was very clear we did not mean anything but dollar signs. Thanks for screwing up our trip! The worst part? This is such a nice area and could really become beautiful if they spent money to spruce things up and actually clean.
Stayed here with two young children and it was not kid friendly. The room we stayed in was sweltering hot in the day AND nighttime. Management refused to change our rooms— even though we asked multiple times. Our room was not cleaned a single time in our four day stay. I will not be staying here again and do not recommend it at all, especially if you’re traveling with children.
