Karon Palace

One of the best hotels I’ve stayed at in Tajikistan! Karon Palace Hotel in Darvoz truly exceeded my expectations — everything from the comfort of the rooms to the quality of service was top-notch. The hotel is modern, clean, and well-maintained, offering a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The staff were friendly and professional, always ready to help with anything I needed. There’s also a supermarket right next to the hotel, which is super convenient for picking up snacks, drinks, or anything else you might need. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling through this region — it’s a perfect place to rest and recharge!

Great Hotel to stop before continue driving the Pamir, very clean, very friendly.

This hotel is considerably more expensive than others in the region, but the service and attitude didn’t match the price. I had already paid in full for the room, and when I asked if I could pay for dinner the next morning, at a nearby, seemingly affiliated restaurant, the manager refused without discussion. The only ATM in town was out of service, and the manager had told me their payment terminal would likely work again the next day, so it seemed like a minor request. Still, he was unwilling to help and dismissed it as literally “not his problem.” The overall attitude felt rigid and somewhat arrogant. Breakfast was poor, rooms were decent, and the swimming pool, while a nice addition, is a steep walk uphill with no real service or atmosphere.
