I really enjoyed my stay at the KAROO Art Hotel. The manager and staff were genuinely friendly and made me feel right at home. Thank heavens for the full-length mirror, something surprisingly missing from most places I've stayed on this trip. Just a heads-up, there's no mini fridge in the rooms, so avoid buying anything that needs to be kept cold. Both breakfast and dinner were delicious and beautifully prepared. The only letdown was the pickled fish starter; it felt out of place on an otherwise lovely menu and could definitely be replaced.
The Karoo art hotel is a beautifully renovated old country hotel and was our first stop on a road trip ex Cape Town. Our bed was very comfortable and all the staff are well trained and very attentive. The food was great and our whole experience was enhanced by the relaxed country atmosphere. A highly recommended stay!
We didn't stay at the hotel but enjoyed dinner and live music in the bar. It was great! Friendly service, really tasty food (big portions), and a charming small town atmosphere that you can only describe by experiencing it in person. I love Barrydale and think any visit is only enriched by having at least one drink at the Barrydale Karoo Art Hotel.
