Stayed in a cottage with my family in march 2025. The cottage is comfortable and warm and the hotel staff was kind enough to allocate one that is closer to the ski facilities. The skiing was great - with suitable slope for my 9 year old to snowboard for the first time, albeit after an 3hour lesson which wasn't too useful but it equipped us the basic skills and confidence to do it ourselves. And to be expected, the fees for skiing and food at the hotel is relatively high - ao be prepared. If not tired after a day of skiing, can always take the free shuttle to the outlet mall for other food choices. Lastly, I love that the place is only less than 1.5hours from tokyo.

Quite convenient location with free shuttle bus service. Has an indoor and outdoor osen but the outdoor view could have been better if not for privacy screens that block part of the Mountain View. As this is a hotel that served group tours, it will be inevitably crowded in the osen.

We stayed in a cottage in mid July for $329 usd a night. The location is the great, getting around is easy, the staff is incredible and food at the restaurant is delicious, but the cottage is plain ole old. To be in the woods on a hill is fun. You are in the trees and it is very private somehow, but they are very old and need an update to warrant the price, IMO. The heated floor is amazing, ac, but everything else is just old and outdated. I know you are paying for the amenities and incredible onsen, but it just seems a little steep in price, but maybe this old rustic feeling is what they are going for. Perhaps the standard hotel room is the way to go unless you want this experience.
