Keight Hotel Opatija Curio Collection By Hilton

Overall, my stay at Keight Hotel Opatija, Curio Collection by Hilton was pleasant, but a few issues prevented it from being truly exceptional. The hotel itself is beautifully designed, in a great location, and has a relaxing atmosphere that we really enjoyed. We had an unfortunate incident where our friends got stuck in the lift. What was even more troubling was that there seemed to be no surveillance camera inside the elevator, and the staff member responsible for handling the situation did not speak English — making communication during an emergency unnecessarily difficult and stressful. Safety and communication should be a top priority in any hotel, especially one operating under the Hilton name. The pool was also not as clean as expected. It had visible dirt and didn’t feel properly maintained, which made it hard to enjoy what should have been a highlight of the hotel. Another concern was the deposit policy: blocking 50 euros per night on a guest’s credit card feels excessive and not in line with the level of service you expect from a premium hotel. While I understand the need for security deposits, this method feels rigid and not particularly guest-friendly. At a 5-star property, guests should feel trusted and welcomed, not financially locked in. I want to highlight and sincerely thank the manager, Marina, who handled all of these situations with professionalism, care, and a genuine willingness to make things right. Her attitude made a big difference and left us with a much more positive impression of the hotel. It’s clear she is doing her best to uphold high standards and look after guests. Even with the setbacks, we enjoyed our stay — and because of the beautiful setting, the great service from Marina, and the hotel’s potential, we are still happy to rate it 5 stars.

We were in Grand Park Hotel in Rovinj, and looking by the reviews its almost as similar as this hotel. Tho this was in Opatia and we expected a bit more looking at the pictures and considering Opatia is a golden place for Hotels… When we came here we found out that its not as specious as we thought. Rooms are quite small although the service was good, rooftop is very beautiful. You can hear the loud noise from the streets and rooms next door in your room. Its right next to the bus station of some sort. Breakfast was classic and good. Tho car had to be parked somewhere outside I don’t for what reason. But we were chill about that. All in all hotel looks quite modern and full of technology but I don’t know it must be our high expectations that killed what we wanted to see. Our rating is based on our experience alone maybe it would be better if it was in different part of the season. Rooms didn’t impress us, location is good and service was excellent.

We are staying at the hotel for one night, but we have encountered multiple issues with the hotel. I will start with the worst one and work my way up to the best one. 1. We were told that we would have private parking, but when we arrived in the evening, tired, we found that public parking was available, which is 200-300m uphill, because their parking was already full! This is one of the main reasons we chose this hotel. 2. The staff at reception were rude and did not assist us with any of our requests. 3. We asked for an additional mattress for the sofa, but they said they didn't have one. Additionally, they didn't have a thin blanket, only a thick double one. 4. The hotel is located in the city center, next to the main street, and is VERY loud at night. If you can sleep with closed windows, then that's fine, but otherwise, you won't sleep. At 2:00 AM, a car passes by every 10 seconds near the hotel (I measured it). 5. Rooms don't have a terrace, but have large windows, even in the toilet(!!) 6. They charged us an additional 50€ upon arrival for some protection (how does this sound to you as a guest?), and yet, 5 days later, it was still not returned to my account. 7. The breakfast was pretty basic in all senses, not much to select from. All in all, a big disappointment for us, even though we were there only for one night. We expected a lot more for a 400e per night hotel. There are many better options in Opatija; do a bit of research and avoid our mistake.
