I had an excellent 4-night stay at Kempinski Residence Guangzhou. The room was immaculate and spacious, beautifully furnished, and extremely comfortable. What truly stood out was the hospitality. The staff were warm, attentive, and always ready to help. Special thanks to Amy and Vivian for their outstanding service, they made our stay extra special. The location is also convenient, with the metro station just a 5-minute walk away. Would definitely stay here again!
The hotel was relatively new, but the location suck big time. Rooms were clean and big, and the staff was generally friendly but not attentive. Location is nowhere near where it is marked in the Google Maps. It is located in the midst of a residential estate with almost a few to none retail and food options. It is also nowhere near to public transport. And there is plenty of construction going on in the surroundings. So don't expect any good view. We ended up taking Didi or cab to everywhere we go. There is also a gym and an indoor pool at level 2.
Overall we would say the amount we paid to stay at this kempinski hotel was not worth it. The service is not great when you compare it to the other chain of hotels overseas. Staff were not attentive to requests made, especially at the buffet breakfast. Many staff also cannot speak English. There is 1 restaurant in the hotel. The breakfast buffet had a variety of options including fresh dumplings. Although the lunch menu was quite strange with a weird mix of Asian and western foods, the food was actually quite nice and fresh. We stayed in a larger room with a kitchen and although it was aesthetically nice, it was quite dirty. We had to request for our floors to be cleaned. As for the surrounding area, there is construction going on which didn’t seem to be noisy while we were there in late April. The hotel is about a 20-25 minute drive in traffic to the canton tower and there is not much in terms of shops or sightseeing that is walking distance.
