Kennebunkport Captains Collection

Had an amazing stay at the Captains Collection! My boyfriend and I stayed in the Nathaniel lord mansion and it was stunning and full of character. Location couldn’t be more convenient- just a short walking distance to downtown and positioned on a quiet street. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The bikes were a huge bonus!! We enjoyed sitting out on the lawn in the morning and evening. Everything about our stay was both peaceful and beautiful. We cannot wait to come back!

I had a wonderful experience during my stay and much of that is thanks to the hotel manager, Virginia, who went above bad beyond to make sure everything was perfect. It rare to come across someone so dedicated to guest satisfaction. You can Virginia genuinely cares about the guests and takes pride in making everyone feel at home. Highly recommend staying here and if you get the chance to interact with Virginia, you’re in great hands!

The location is perfect a - mix of whatever activities you would like to do. The center of town is easily within walking distance - maybe 5-10 minutes of the center of town. The beach is a bit farther (depending on the beach) and likely requires a drive, but still very close (2 miles). The people working here are very friendly and had some great tips on where to go and what to do. The hotel also provides beach towels, chairs and bikes which was very convenient. The room itself was very comfortable; the bed and shower were both great. We also had a fireplace in our room which we put to good use when it got chilly one night. Where we felt it fell a little short is the walls are surprisingly thin. We couldn't hear our neighbors talking or anything, but we could hear them walking around, closing cabinets and or doors. The room where breakfast was served was also right below us - and I was woken up at least one of the days someone walking in and out probably getting breakfast ready. I don't think anyone was being particularly loud - but we could definitely hear a lot. To be really specific I think whenever someone closed the sliding door in the bathroom, it sounded like people were slamming it, even though they likely weren't. For the price, I think we would expect not to have these kind of issues.
