Kentucky Grand Hotel & Spa

My husband and I stayed here for my birthday this past weekend. We stayed in the Metropolitan Suite and it was as close to PERFECT as any hotel stay I've ever had! The room was immaculately clean when we arrived! The bed was so comfy and the linens smelled super clean. The suite is super spacious—like the size of a LARGE one-bedroom apartment. This suite could have easily accommodated a small group (3-4) friends. No huge complaints other than we could never find the remote for the TV in the bedroom and I ran out of hot water while taking a bath. Other than that, I would say it’s perfect!!

The KY Grand is a lovely, small boutique hotel. All the staff I came in contact with were very nice and helpful. The piano bar is cozy and beautiful. The lobby area is very chic and comfortable. My room {Lincoln Suite} was very nice and spacious with a full sitting area, dining table, giant bathroom with tub and walk in shower. The bed was very comfortable, one of the best I've experienced in a hotel and I have traveled quite a bit. I gave a three star rating for the following reasons. I could hear every word spoken by the guests in the room next door and they were not speaking loudly. The room did have a pod coffee maker, but the cups in the room were large, unwrapped foam that would not fit the coffee maker. There was not an electrical plug in the bathroom, which I found inconvenient. At check in, I was given a key to the back door of the hotel and informed that the doors to the hotel would be locked at 9:00, but I could come in through the back door. I was out at an event until midnight. The back door is located in the small parking lot and was not well lit at all. Had my friends not walked me back to the hotel, i would have found this uncomfortable as a woman alone having to fumble with a lock to get in the hotel. Except for very dim lighting near the elevator, there were no lights on in the lobby area at all. All in all, my stay was nice.

My wife and I stayed at the Ky Grand the night before our honeymoon and have come back every year since. Last year they cancelled last minute to run a haunted house, promised us a free room and are now dodging our calls. I've left 4 messages with the "manager". No response. This place is a huge disappointment now. Do not recommend.
