My partner and I just got back from a lovely, relaxing couple of days away here. We were in Alford spa lodge. We were 2 hours early for check-in, but the lodge was ready, so let us check in early. On arrival was all very clean and well presented. Nicely tucked away and very private. Noticed that the hottub was a little low on water with water around the base. Informed reception, and they sent someone straight away to resolve the issue. Very happy with that. Had a few drinks at the hotel bar, very nice with friendly staff. Would highly recommend. We will be back!

Just got back from a 5 day stay at kenwick lodges louth staying in lodge 133. I was very impressed with the lodges apon arrival the lodges was clean smelled really good and the beds was very comfy its an amazing setting peaceful with nature all around ideal for relaxing. We had a jacuzzi which we was told was cleaned after every visit and it was very clean. The jacuzzi was a bit old with the cover starting to fall apart and the buttons to control the jacuzzi so worn you couldn't see what button did what but after playimg around with it we worked it out. Some of the jets looked damaged slightly but still worked. And the filter that sucks all the floaty bits kept on coming off so we had to keep replacing it. Apart from that the jacuzzi worked fine. The only major negative things I will say about the loadge. 1. There was no coat hanger to hand a coat in the entry it ideally needs one. We had to hand the coats on the back of the chairs which made it look untidy its not ideal. 2. The amount of wasps unfortunately we struggled to sit out side due the amount of wasps buzzing around. If we tried to eat or just sit out side we would be hounded by wasps. We spoke to a neiboring loadge and they had the same issues she was litually sitting out side with a can of bug spray trying to kill them as they fly around he. 2. It got so hot in the loadge and we was unable to keep the windows open to allow air flow because of the wasps coming into the loadge so we couldn't sit out side or open the windows duing the day and it got unbearably hot. An air con system is idealy needed in the lodges to help maintain a comfortable and relaximg environment. The lodges are very nice and beds comfy but I probably wouldn't go back duing the summer months agains all the wasps and the heat made the break very uncomfortable in the heat. Overall its a lovely setting lovely loadges just a few little adaptations and it would be almost perfect. I would recommend a visit.

We stayed here for 1 week. We booked a lodge but what we got was not what we expected. In the past we have stayed in many lodges and caravans in both the UK and Europe. Based on our experience, this lodge was much closer to a caravan than a lodge. On the plus side it was quite clean on the inside and was generally quiet and peacful, as it was located in one of the heavily wooded parts of the site and on arrival the checking in prosess was fine. On the negative side the list is longer. The actual access 'road' to our lodge was a gravel drive that was so overgrown on the sides that some of the logs marking the edges of the drive were invisible, so much so that one of the party, recovering from knee surgery tripped over one of these hidden logs and fell to the ground. Inside the lodge it was so gloomy because of the trees that we had to switch lights on during the day even though the sun was shining. The outside of the lodge was / is in need of some serious maintainence. The entrance stairs were very dirty, with cobwebs, bird poo etc all over them. The hot tub and surrounding area was equally dirty, so much so we did'nt even consider opening the lid or using it. The decking and outside furniture was similarly in serious need of cleaning. We tried to clean it with the brush from the lodge but it made no difference, hence we never used this either. The utensils etc inside the lodge were fine except for the towels. There was 1 medium sized towel per person and 1 small hand towel in each bathroom. If you like a big towel to wrap around you after a shower take your own. There was no tea/coffee/milk welcome pack, which for the price we paid for the lodge is a bit mean. We can't comment on the facilities provided as they were all too far away and you have to pay extra to use the swimming pool, again at the price we paid I would expect this to be included. We will not be returning here.
