We came here for a spontaneous honeymoon. There was a hand-written card from the staff with a bottle of champagne and chocolates in our room when we arrived! The property is absolutely beautiful! My husband wanted to drive around and explore, but I just wanted to stay at our new home-away-from-home! We ended up staying an extra night!
A Truly Perfect Getaway Everything about our stay was perfect. From the moment we walked into the hotel, there was an air of luxury and comfort. The parking lot is conveniently located just across the road from the hotel. Our room was lovely, and the pool and hot tub were fantastic! They're open until 10 PM, so even with a late check-in, we had plenty of time to enjoy them. The bar, also open until 10 PM, featured amazing piano music. I'd never before seen someone play and perfectly sing "Bohemian Rhapsody" solo—it was incredible. Stargazing and Sunrises Stepping out onto the balcony, we were able to gaze at a sky full of stars next to a warm bonfire that burned all night. The stars were absolutely spectacular! The high elevation meant the air was incredibly clear, which made for a truly rich experience. I even woke up in the middle of the night just to see them again. Next time, I'd love to visit during a new moon. We also made sure to wake up before sunrise to watch the sun come up. The reflection of the mountains on the serene lake was breathtakingly beautiful. The cafe opens at 7 AM, so we were able to enjoy a warm coffee while strolling along the lake. A Secret Gem We are definitely coming back here during ski season. This place feels like a secret hideaway that I almost don't want to tell anyone about. I truly loved every moment of our stay.
Pros: Location, kid and dog friendly, helpful staff, clean rooms, great amenities, awesome offers like free golf, free gondola ticket for kids, free tennis, discount at spa, convenient parking, shuttle, etc. Con: We came in August with kids and my biggest complaint is the lack of central air and how hot/stuffy the rooms got. They provided fans, but they didn’t seem to do much. You’d think since the highs only got to about 74 degrees it would be comfortable but it was HOT. I understand not wanting to install central air, but maybe up the game by at least offering a sort of swamp/evaporative cooler or install screen doors on the patios so doors could be left open at night.
