Kimpton Ashbel New York Park Avenue

The staff was fantastic. So friendly. Easy to work with for credit card authorizations. Felt like a boutique hotel, not a chain hotel. The building is older and a few blocks south of Grand Central. It has typical New York-sized rooms. The decor is classy, and I appreciate a large desk with good lighting. It was less noisy than the hotels in the Time Square area. Abundant dining options within 4 blocks.

70 Park Hotel is a hidden gem in Midtown Manhattan! For the price, you simply can’t go wrong—finding a hotel under $200 a night in this location that actually delivers is rare, but this one does. Yes, the rooms are very small, but they’re comfortable, clean, and well-appointed. The bathroom was spotless, and any minor issues—like my key not working—were handled by the outstanding staff within minutes. Don’t let other reviews mislead you; the service here is top-notch, and the location is unbeatable. If you’re looking for a solid stay in the heart of NYC without breaking the bank, this is it!

Location is perfect, close to everything essential in midtown. We asked for a room with a nice view at an elevated floor which we were given. The downside of this hotel was that there was no bar facilities neither breakfast facilities and the fact that all the staff members were not polite and service minded at all, except for the doorman Jessie who did everything he could to be helpful with advice water bottles etc. In other words, he made the difference.
