Kimpton Canary Hotel by IHG

My two friends and I stayed at Kimpton Canary last weekend and had the best time. The service from Edwin at the front desk made our stay extra special. The check in was very smooth and he answered all the questions we had about the area and our stay. He realized I was celebrating my birthday and surprised us with a bottle of champagne and a cheese plate to the room. Later when we approached the desk for dinner reservation ideas, the two new men at concierge were very helpful as well and suggested an Italian spot Toma, which was delicious and we loved! The hotel is in walking distance to all the shops and the Salt Cave, a meditative spot on our to do list. In the morning, we enjoyed the complimentary coffee bar with different syrups, milk options, and even collagen. We enjoyed our coffee on the rooftop deck with an incredible view of SB. There is ample seating, a fireplace and lovely pool. However, if you want to use the pool, I would suggest going in the morning because no one is up there. It's a smaller area so once the lounge chairs fill up, the pool feels less inviting. When we were up there enjoying the lounge chairs (swim ready) no one was actually in the pool despite the perfect weather for it. It's more of a relaxing/quiet pool vibe. The hotel itself has so much charm and beautiful architecture. We never went to the lobby bar for food or drink but it was very inviting as well. The rooms were big, comfy beds and had a huge bathroom. There was also complimentary robes/slippers and a yoga mat. The yoga mat was such a nice surprise because I like to stretch in the morning. The only thing I would say is that I really wanted a balcony we could utilize and the Juliette Balcony was not that. It's so small, it's kind of silly it even exists. One person can barely get out there on it. Other than that, I highly recommend. I would definitely stay here again. Amazing customer service wins every time. We just had our wedding reception at the Canary in June and it was perfect! Olivia had been our contact throughout the planning process and she is very organized and thoughtful. She was also there the night of making sure everything came out smoothly. We got really lucky with perfect weather and clear skies. It felt like such a treat for my guests from out of state to see all of Santa Barbara from the rooftop. The food, drinks and staff were incredible. I wish we could do it all over again! Thank you Canary staff.

The whole hotel is just gorgeous! Lots of beautiful tile work throughout. I stayed here with my three kids, but I would not call it family-friendly. They didn’t have kid-friendly food items for purchase, so that creates an extra step to get food offsite. Also, no one told me to tell the valets if you have an early departure, so do that and they will have the car waiting rather than going to get it in the morning when no valets are working.
