What a stunning venue for weddings and events right in the heart of Washington, D.C.! As a photographer, I always have wonderful experiences working at Hotel Monaco. The space is elegant and full of character—perfect for capturing both intimate moments and lively celebrations. The hotel staff was incredibly generous and supportive throughout the day, from the getting-ready suite to the reception. Their professionalism and hospitality made our job smooth and enjoyable. Highly recommend this venue for couples looking for a stylish and memorable wedding location!
Our time at the Kimpton Hotel was a wonderful treat. The staff were incredible and the room was luxurious. Its location cannot be beat- the middle of DC is an exciting place to stay. The unexpected amenities, including complimentary bicycles, umbrellas, and a daily Social Hour brought joy and delight. In true Kimpton fashion, I promptly received a text shortly after checking in. A staff member wanted to make sure we were pleased with our room and to let him know if we needed any assistance. To my surprise, I was greeted with a “welcome back” message- even though my previous stay was in 2017. To kindly remember us after that length of time was a wonderful experience. I’d give the hotel a perfect score, but there was a minor issue with an item we’ve accidentally left behind. We called and completed the ‘forgot my stuff’ online forms, but never received any follow-up from the hotel. Unfortunately, that lapse slightly mars an otherwise perfect experience. Regardless, I strongly and favorably recommend this hotel, but I advise all guest to triple-check your belongings before checking out.
Overall, we were very disappointed with our stay and won't go back. We were in town for a weekend at the end of a longer vacation. The pros are the location is central to lots of museums, the rooms were nice and comfortable, and the hotel is a beautiful historic building. The cons were they charged $113 a night for parking and bill it separately for each night. So, when we checked out we got a bill for $113 and then got another $113 charge on our card when we got home. We called and were told this is how they operate. It is $65 for parking plus $11.70 city parking tax, plus $32 guest amenity fee, plus guest amenity fee tax of $5.10. They know how to rip you off if you have a car. The other con was the noise. Kids running down the hall at 1:30 am and the woman in the next room was so loud we left the hotel at 3:30 am. We called to complain and they called her room but did nothing else to follow up on the problem. The hotel apologized but certainly didn't offer us any money back when we couldn't sleep. So, we don't recommend especially if you have a car.
