Beautiful boutique hotel in beautiful colonial Santo Domingo. Staff is extremely personable and professional. Rooms are clean and modern. Food is delicious Walking distance to everything When we checked in we were given wet napkins to clean up and a delicious drink. Every morning we were given fresh water in a glass bottle - large size. We also swam in the roof top pool where wine is available for free although I did not have. This is really a very pretty historic property and the rooms and especially the staff are great! Dinner at Zola was amazing and the server recommended a drink that I asked the bartender at El Patio, Edgar, to make and he gladly called them for the recipe and made it for me! The F&B director Christopher was very friendly too. Highly recommend this historic property!!

I had a wonderful experience at Kimpton Las Mercedes. The treatment was amazing, food was great and the rooms were luxurious! However, during our last day at breakfast I was highly disappointed that the managers were basically interrogating my mom and I for our information. They wanted to know who we were, where did we work, how long were we in the country for… It was unfortunate to experience this after such a good time. They were not going around to anybody else and it was very unfortunate to receive this treatment - will not be returning. Am highly disappointed as they did not seem it was okay we should be there for whatever reason (perhaps race).
