Pet friendly hotel. Staff opens the door for you when you arrived. Front desk is a bit small with only 2 spots but staff greets you and make sure you know you will be assisted next. Parking garage is not restricted to only hotel guest. Which a bit concerning for security. It is also not bright enough down in parkade. Room is on the smaller side. The elevator required door pass tap to access your floor. The decorations are unique and exhibit a bit of European touch. Like the Cooper touches throughout. Room also did not have coffee maker but there is a empty cooler. There is a sign if you need anything they can loan you some items. Although the staff forgot to put the doggy bathroom in my room. Price is around $500 a night and in and out self parking is $45 and valet parking is $55. If room was slightly bigger it would be even better. Overall would staff again.
We stayed at the Kimpton St George for 2 nights while in Toronto. The hotel is wonderful ! Clean rooms, very comfortable beds. There is so much attention to detail - little things like having a dimmer switch in the bathroom, on the night stand, having some extra hooks in the room for your belongings. The art work throughout the hotel is great, and all local artists. Best of all is the absolutely convenient location to using the subway if you are going downtown. The station and stop are literally across the street. The indoor self parking is directly next to the hotel. We did not eat at the restaurant, but they do have wine from 5-6pm that is a nice perk. There is a great exercise room and the hotel also has some bikes you can use on a first come first serve basis. We would definitely stay here again! Extra recommendation: We had a great dinner at Bar Mercurio, a small Italian restaurant just down the street from the hotel (walking) The atmosphere is very authentic and the food was delicious.
I’m currently staying here, but I feel compelled to share what happened at check-in. The night before my arrival, I called to confirm what was needed for check-in. I was told that a physical debit card and ID would be accepted. I followed those instructions exactly. However, when I arrived, I was denied check-in—despite having already paid and followed the instructions I was given. What made this worse was not just the refusal, but the shift in tone and treatment once I arrived in person. It felt judgmental, dismissive, and incredibly disorienting. There was no compassion, flexibility, or attempt to resolve the situation—just a cold shutdown, as if I hadn’t even called the night before. I felt invisible, unwelcome, and entirely unvalued. I’ve stayed at many IHG properties and usually feel respected and understood. This experience left me shaken. I expected boutique warmth and hospitality—not this kind of friction at the door. If you plan to stay here, I strongly recommend getting written confirmation of all check-in requirements. What you’re told on the phone may not align with what happens in person.
