Sunday Roast Delight at The kings highway We ventured out for a traditional Sunday carvery today at The king's higway, and it was largely a satisfying experience. The selection of roasted meats was inviting, with generous portions of succulent beef, tender turkey, and flavourful gammon on offer. The accompanying Yorkshire puddings were impressively large and held their crispiness well, a definite highlight. The vegetable selection was also commendable, featuring perfectly cooked roast potatoes with crispy skins and fluffy insides, alongside a decent array of seasonal greens and a rich, flavourful gravy that tied everything together nicely. While the stuffing was perhaps a little on the bland side for my taste, the overall quality of the food was certainly above average for a carvery. However, what truly elevated our visit was the exceptional service we received from our waiter, Mason. From the moment we were seated, Mason was attentive, friendly, and incredibly efficient. He promptly took our drinks orders, checked on us regularly without being intrusive, and was always ready with a smile and a helpful attitude. When my dining companion had a query about the different meats, Mason explained each option clearly and patiently. It's not often you receive such genuinely warm and attentive service in a busy carvery setting, and Mason truly stood out. He is a real asset to the team. While there were minor aspects of the meal that could have been slightly improved, the delicious food and, in particular, the outstanding service provided by Mason made for a very enjoyable Sunday lunch. We will definitely be returning, and we'll be hoping Mason is on hand to look after us again!
The location was ideal—just off the main outer ring road, making it easy to find and conveniently accessible. As I approached, the building had a warm and inviting appearance, setting a positive tone straight away. Reception was friendly and efficient, with a warm welcome and all my questions answered before I was quickly checked in. The accommodation was peaceful—almost as if I had the hotel to myself. The room was impressively spacious, offering everything I needed and more. The bed was extremely comfortable, and I enjoyed a restful, undisturbed night’s sleep. It didn’t feel cramped at all, with plenty of room to move around. I particularly appreciated the thoughtful touches like the two-seater sofa and a separate dressing table, which made the space feel even more comfortable and well-considered. The hotel provided everything I required for a relaxing stay. I would definitely recommend it and look forward to returning.
Friends and I decided to cap off our holidays by having dinner at Kings highway. Food is great although some confusions with orders came up. Ordered and paid for a large drink, but we got the regular sized drink. Informed the staff about it, checked on our receipt and politely said , ok I'll check and sort it out for you. minutes passed, all our food are already served so called the attention of the same staff and he said will need to sort it out and speak with the manager about it. The same staff passed by our table many times pretending not to see us. We FINISHED our meal without our issue sorted. We left and decided not to ask anymore about it since it's just a drink. Thinking about it, it's not really about the drink but more about being ignored without any word from the staff. Food is great and the other lady who served our table was really lovely. Hoping that other staff learn from her customer sevice and that Issues need to be entertained, sorted and not ignored.
