My sister had a really pleasant stay at this hotel. Visiting on a weekday, she found the Staff to be very friendly and welcoming. She slept well in her "comfortable" room and was impressed with the toiletries provided and considered the room to be generally clean. The breakfast was tasty although she mentioned that the dining area looked a little tired and in need of decoration but overall she would happily return here and would recommend it in view of the price she paid, which was £65 per night.

For a stop over place overnight, was warm, welcoming, cosy and atmospheric, felt very much at home as soon as we walked in. A little bit more detail to the rooms would have been nice. Two complimentary bottles of mineral water, a greater variety of tea bags (herbal), however the receptionist was very obliging and on my request had the herbal tea bags sent up to our room. Dinner was very satisfactory, we opted for their fish and chips, it was nicely presented on the plate, a nice big portion, and very tasty. Plenty of sight seeing around the area, the following day we took a lovely long walk across Richmond Park to Ham House. Beautiful setting. The staff very kindly let us leave our luggage behind reception so we could explore the surrounding area even after we had officially signed out. My only criticism was unfortunately our neighbours were very noisy, putting on the TV at 3.00am - 4.00am in the morning, banging around, disturbing us. The walls were quite thin. But this is no bad reflection on the service we received from the staff, and did not take away from us the lovely atmosphere of the hotel. We would definitely stay there again

Where to start...I booked 2 rooms for 8 people. Arrived to an unmade room, dirty slept in bed, towels on the floor. We were given a new room which was made but had stained decorative pillows, stained carpets and a makeup hand print on the wall. Looks like it needed some new carpets and a bit of decorating. The linen itself was spotless and smelled fresh, which is the most important. The second room we had still had someone staying in it who hadn't left. Walked in on them in the toilet. So we then had to delay our plans to go out while the staff made him leave and then cleaned the room for us. After this, we were then refused any kind of refund as the manager was away. The best they offered was a cancellation, which we didn't want as we needed somewhere to stay. On top of that they would've charged us £20 to cancel. I feel like they're short staffed too. Only 1 person on the check in desk. Didn't seem like they had anyone enforcing check out times and an absentee manager. I also found the check in boy to be rude.
