Kinugawa Onsen Hotel

Lovely hotel, caters mainly to locals, but also serves an international crowd. Staff are first class; very efficient and able to multitask very well. Rooms very comfortable and spacious. Buffet is amazing! Too much food, we were very well-fed! Afternoon tea was a nice touch. I loved the whole experience; will definitely be back again in future! Thank you!

Recently stayed at the Kinugawa Onsen Hotel. The experience was amazing. The hotel is very nice inside and the guest rooms are very comfortable. The baths themselves are very well kept and not too busy. The buffet was also very high quality. Many options and very nice quality sashimi as well as Japanese and Western dishes. The service was also top notch. Yuka was very helpful and she went above and beyond to ensure our stay was pleasant. She explained the facilities in the hotel as well as personal recommendations for various souvenirs to purchase. She also helped us with planning the rest of our trip in Nikko. In conclusion, I highly recommend the Kinugawa Onsen Hotel!

The staff was all very attentive caring and SO amazing!! I did get a discounted room so the room itself was one of the older ones. Perhaps if you paid extra for a newer room I would’ve liked it more. Futon was decently comfortable but the hallway was so creepy. The river noise was abit loud, the balcony was aged, dirty and creepy but overall acceptable. At dinner the staff was so nice to prepare a birthday plate & printed a photo with a card for us. So so so nice! Bath looks modern, it’s well maintained but the details definitely give its age away. For some reason the rock outdoor Onsen was SO hot but all the indoor ones was really lukewarm. The buffet was big and food was decent. But again, the service was 10/10. If you can get it on a discount (around 300$) then it’s definitely a good deal.
