Absolutely gorgeous place, with some mavellous architecture, and a feeling if updated history. Well worth a drive to, and to stay a night in. Their food is good and the beer is amazing!
The highlight were the grounds. My puppy loved running around and exploring. The staff was helpful and friendly but the hotel aspect was not amazing. Beds could be more comfortable and rooms could be cleaner (everything had a layer of dust on it). But it included a modest breakfast and I really liked it being pet friendly.
Loved it! spoke with the owner, who was very nice and also lives at the hotel. Had the rabbit while my wife had the duck. Duck was amazing, rabbit was reheated.. as far as i understand the hotel and the restaurant are two different companies, which is a shame as it would be better if it was the same thing. Nonetheless, great wine selection, garden and building. The craft behind the refurbished monastery is amazing. And also , the bathrooms at the hotel rooms are spacious with a high standard.
