Knipoch House Hotel

Knipoch House is just as charming as it looks. From the moment you enter, the scent of the fireplace and the warm welcome from the staff make you feel right at home. It's clean and well located—close to Oban, but without the noise of the town. The breakfasts are just as excellent as the service. We also had the chance to dine there twice, and both times the food was amazing! And then, the whisky bar. What made this bar stand out wasn’t just the selection of bottles, but the passion and knowledge that Archie shared with us. He truly elevated the experience.

Stayed here for 2 nights recently and were very glad we did. We booked last minute and were so happy we'd found it when we turned up. It's a short drive to Oban but set beside a lake with fantastic views - theres a road in between which is a shame but can't be helped. The hotel is really comfortable, with good size rooms, nice bathrooms, very clean everywhere and overall a great place to come back to after a day out in the mountains and on the lakes. The service was impeccable, and everyone very friendly and helpful. We had dinner one night and the food was fantastic - lots of care and thought from the chef and a very good breakfast each day too. Would definitely come back! Only down side for me was the £25/night charge for a dog - I understand an extra charge but it's usually a one-off fee rather than each night.

Good hotel relatively close to Oban, and well located for exploring the Slate Islands. Our ground floor room was comfortable, clean and had all the facilities you would expect from a hotel in the Sonas group. Lovely staff and the other guests were all very chatty and friendly too - I guess if you are staying here and visiting a lesser-visited part of the west coast of Scotland, you’re bound to meet like-minded folks.
