One of the best resorts I’ve ever stayed at. We did five-nights but easily could have stayed longer. We loved it so much that on day one, my partner asked if we could get a Rosewood membership! The property feels incredibly private and secluded, with each guest staying in their own standalone bungalow, or hale, inspired by traditional Hawaiian design. We had a lagoon-view hale, and while I originally requested a garden view, it turned out to be absolutely beautiful. The rooms are perfectly appointed, with details like an outdoor shower and bathtub, excellent room service, and thoughtful turndown service that made each evening feel special. The resort feels authentically Hawaiian—not themed, but truly rooted in a sense of place. From the natural materials to the cultural touches, it’s clear this isn’t just a luxury resort in Hawaii—it’s Hawaii, expressed through luxury. It was sunny, relaxed, and welcoming—we felt right at home from the moment we arrived. Jose greeted us warmly at check-in, and Fatima, the Food & Beverage Director, went above and beyond to help plan the perfect birthday dinner. The spa is a must—book the hot stone lomi lomi massage with Lilly. She’s magical. We did the sunrise kayak at 7 a.m. and saw spinner dolphins (tip: sign up on your first day, it books up fast!). There’s plenty to do on property: a basketball hoop, tennis and pickleball courts, and bikes conveniently placed around the resort so you can ride anywhere. The gym is a bit small, and ideally could be larger, but it was never crowded during our stay. For families, there’s a kids’ club, a soccer field, and an outdoor game area with foosball, ping pong, pool, and giant Jenga. Food was a highlight. We spent our days relaxing by the beach, our favorites were: poke, tacos, chicken wings, and the banana coladas. Sushi night at Shipwreck Bar was a blast, and Talk Story Bar, the closest bar to the beach in all of Hawaii, was perfect for sunset drinks. And for breakfast? Skip the menu and go straight for the buffet at Moana, if you need a protein smoothie try the banana peanut butter from the coffee shop. Off-property, I did the manta ray night snorkel, which was unforgettable and easy to arrange. One tip: if you’re prone to bug bites, bring bug spray, especially around dusk. The on-site Island Copra Boutique is also worth a visit, curated with beautiful pieces. We had dinner at the resort every night except one—venturing next door to Miller & Lux at the Four Seasons—and honestly? We wished we had stayed at Kona Village. It was a truly memorable stay. We’re already planning our return trip. ⸻ TL;DR: Kona Village is pure magic. Private, peaceful, and authentically Hawaiian. Highlights: beautiful lagoon-view hale with outdoor showers, an incredible spa (get the lomi lomi massage with Lilly!), sunrise kayaking with spinner dolphins, beachside poke + banana coladas, sushi night at Shipwreck, and the Moana breakfast buffet (look for the mochi pancakes!). Staff are exceptional—special thanks to Fatima and Jose. Bonus: bikes to ride everywhere, tons of family-friendly activities, and a thoughtfully curated boutique. Gym is a bit small, but rarely crowded. We didn’t want to leave—and honestly, we kind of want to move in.

This property is amazing. The rooms are spectacular, the grounds are great. I still believe this is a 5 star hotel although service has a few issues. We were in the furthest room, and there are golf carts to transport you, which is great but sometimes we’d wait 20+ minutes and have to call several times. One time we almost missed our excursion off property because it took 30 minutes to get a golf cart and then they had to get our car from the lot. It felt they were very understaffed. My only other feedback was that a few times, kids would be in the adults only pool. The staff would rectify the situation, but in the kids defense, there is no sign that says adults only. Otherwise, thought the food was great. We did a cooking class with the chef, which was so fun. Shipwreck bar was a fun place for dinner and it is also nice to just walk to the four seasons for a change of pace for dinner. I would come back here in a second, it really is heaven and hopefully next time they will be staffed correctly to avoid any headache

Absolutely stunning resort. After a long flight from Australia and arriving in the afternoon to an amazing resort which I spent the next 6 days in, I found it was a blend of luxury and nature which is done to perfection, and every detail feels thoughtfully designed. The staff were warm and attentive, and the views were simply unforgettable. Everything from the Shipwreck and Talk Story bars to having breakfast and dinner at Moana, the food and drinks did not disappoint. The cafe was open early and still being jetlagged it was great to get some coffee and pastries to enjoy while enjoying the view so early in the morning. My favourite part was the bikes which were available around the resort to get you around the expansive estate and is something that really made this resort so different to other resorts I have stayed at. Even the cleaning and turn down service added their own touch including adding a bookmark to our books we were reading, they certainly went above and beyond. No matter what time of the day, there was someone there to help or give advice on things to do. An added bonus was the car hire which the resort gets at great rates especially for driving to the Volcano National Park when the car hire around the island price surge during an eruption. A true Hawaiian paradise, and I can’t wait to return!
