We had cycled all day and have some dietary restrictions. Jesper the chef, didn’t bat an eyelid and with no notice rustled to two vegan meals and made some gluten free bread. Elma the receptionist and waitress was wonderful and helpful finding a place for bikes. Fantastic and friendly customer service. And very tasty food both for dinner and a good breakfast as well as a wonderful location.

Absolutely horrendous experience. Went here with my family to celebrate my dad's 70 year birthday - and after arriving we got LOCKED OUT from the hotel by the hotel staff. We tried calling all the available numbers the hotel put up on their home page but to our avail no one was picking up the phone, effectively leaving myself and three other family members locked out from our rooms and valuables. Our entourage of 6 people were forced to spend the night in ONE room with TWO BEDS. An absolute disgrace and I do not recommend ANYONE in their right mind to stay here! Avoid at ALL costs!!

Please note that my rating is based on my personal experience, and might not apply for staying at this hotel in general. We booked one of the most expensive suites at the hotel, but the general toilets were right ouside our room, and some very loud handdryers were starting out of the blue Aprx. every half hour, making it impossible to get a good nights rest. Bringing it to the attention of the receptionist resulted in: "What a shame, the electrician were here just yesterday...he could have looked at it".. I expected they would get the problem sorted.. But not so...4 nights of my vacation ruined by negligence... Checking out, and being asked if everything was to my full satisfaction, I said not the case, and repeated the problem with the dryers going off at will, and sounding like a small rocketship.. A young helper at the castle, heard me, and said they jumped half a meter when they were in the area and they went off..(Seemingly a known issue..). Receptionist said...I have noted your complaint.. Now 2 weeks after, having heard nothing, not even a small sorry for ruining your stay, and part of your vacation, I must say the one star is only because the roof wasnt leaking. Other rooms might be okay, but my experience was definetely not, and under all circumstances, I would call the service somewhat shabby. HH
