Konak Tuncel Efe

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying here for 2 nights whilst travelling in Turkey. I would describe this as a small family run hotel with lots of character. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the location for access to shops, restaurants and the beach could not be better. Datça is a town visited by mainly Turkish holiday makers so little English is spoken but don't be put off by this as all the Turkish people we met wanted to help us and communication was never a problem. I would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely use it again if we were visiting Datça.

Prime location with good view, small private beach along public walkway across the back entrance. Rooms were clean with basic and old decor, breakfast was good, lift made it accessible to upper floors. Apart from all this there was almost no hospitality with strict and absurd rules for a boutique hotel, made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. Owner/manager Semra should be in another business, or employ a professional manager. She does not know how to greet guests, not approachable and rather turns her head and walks away. Most of all though if you want to rest and sleep book another hotel like we did after two nights (had booking for five nights). Heavy and loud music till 12.30 - 1 am every night at the hotel and bar next door which is also owned by same person, made it unbearable for us. I felt sorry for some of the staff like Yunus bey and kitchen staff who were kind, obligingly, willing to help but were influenced and controlled by the owner to assist otherwise.

The receptionist woman is very rude and unfriendly. When I enter inside, a middle-aged woman encounter me & act politely at first. I asked for small favour for using the toilet. She rejected me. She has the right to reject, this is not the problem for me. However, after I exit immediately I heard she got very angry with me and used bad slang word behind my back. She shows her real face under the mask. I couldn’t turn back to give her answer because I was in urgent situation. But I hope she and everybody sees my comment and learn how FAKE she is. Be careful, this lady can smile to your face then use slang word behind your back. Don’t believe her fake politeness. You shouldn’t work with Fake and egoistic person like this.
