Kununurra Country Club Resort

We stayed here for two nights with our Outback Spirit bus tour. The pool was delicious after only being able to cool off in shallow creeks. The manager was a bit officious and seemed very bossy and aggressive with staff, so consequently staff seemed happy. However when I informed him that my bathroom light was flickering it was fixed by a friendly maintenance guy within a couple of hours. Also we were told that the bar closed at 9 pm but no one was able to buy anymore drinks after 8 pm with no explanation.

Leafy, quiet and good rooms. Close to shops and supermarkets. On-site restaurant very good.

I have regularly stayed here and this time I was severely disappointed. The sheets smelled of not being dried in time (like squashed ants), the shower only dribbled water and didn't work properly, and the gardens look terrible. The restaurant was nice however, I did feel second rate when I watched the female manager attend every table except for mine to ask how they enjoyed their meal. Perhaps it was because I was dining alone or perhaps dressed in Kimberly casual - but ended up feeling judged. Wont go back!!
