We were late to come to gunma 30 min away from train, buses stopped running but hotel staff was kind to send staff to drive us to hotel. Really saved us. The hotel also provides bus shuttle to get around town and let us know about the festival in town. Got to enjoy the festival during our stay and got to move around thanks to the shuttle service. The room was also very clean and provides yukata.
Kusatsu Now is a resort I would recommend to anybody. My friends and I appeared on their steps basically in the middle of the night due to unfortunate circumstances having to do with a previous hotel we cancelled our rooms from and they were so kind as to let us book a couple rooms without any notice. The rooms were absolutely gorgeous and spacious. Me and my boyfriend had a room to ourselves and it housed 2 beds, a couch with a TV, a vanity area, and of course you can’t forget the shower area and the private onsen attached to the room. It was seriously so beautiful and peaceful. I really enjoyed my stay there. The staff are all so friendly and professional. The maids will clean your rooms every day at noon unless you tell them otherwise, in which case they will give you a bag of fresh supplies. Also should mention that every refresh they give you a complimentary bottle of champagne, so that was a plus! The room I stayed in had a nespresso with pods, bottled water, a few champagne glasses and a couple regular glasses, two cups and saucers, and a mini fridge. The hotel also provides you with yukata, slippers, and sandals as well as a jacket to wear over your yukata. Kusatsu Now provides so many amenities, a lot of which I didn’t get to use during my stay only because I chose to be a blob in my room most of the time. Karaoke room, a coin-operated laundry room, like 3 or 4 public onsen, a swimming pool, game room where you can play ping pong. They also are very accommodating to those with small children. I saw like 2 play areas dedicated to smaller kids. The lobby is so nice and grand and there are a couple souvenir shops in the hotel. You can pay 3,000 yen for breakfast each morning at the buffet (all you can eat). The breakfast is only from 7:30am-8:30am. I recommend this resort any time, any day. 10/10 forever. 💖 Thank you Kusatsu Now!
The external public areas were all very nice amd resort like. The dinner and breakfast buffet were also very nice with a wide spread of selection. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The onsen was also very nice with many different pools to choose from. Our main disappointment is the room's bathroom. Its old and not upgraded. It has patched work on the sink, tap and looked more like it belonged to a 1-star hotel. Must ask for the renovated rooms if you stay here.
