Amazing view of the Sognefjord and the village of Balestrand from our large balcony and dining area. The history of this hotel is displayed in paintings and photos throughout the first floor giving it an amazing ambiance. The dinner in the bar area and breakfast in the main dining area both were amazing. Breakfast had so many choices of food and everything tasted amazing. Check in and parking was confusing. Once checked in you park on the back side of this hotel and you can take the inside elevator to your room and/or to the lobby floor. This is a very peaceful and quiet historic hotel that is located by the water. Staff were very friendly. Rooms were cozy and clean.
Stayed in the new part but still had a great view. Room is a good size but dated and basic. The historic part of the hotel is 5 stars. Will definitely be returning. Food in the restaurant is buffet and again 5 stars.
Lovely hotel eappecially the old part. Staff friendly and helpful. Evening meal was amazing buffet and served by Olivia who was lovely. Breakfast was very good also. Nice walk through village and the St Olaf church definitely worth a visit just beautiful. Only spent one night. Thank you.
